When you are comfortably situated for your appointment, your Mariposa Aesthetics and Laser Center practitioner will draw a small amount of your blood. This amount will be about the same amount used for a common lab draw.
The blood is placed into a special centrifuge we have on-site, which spins the sample at an extremely fast rate — fast enough to separate the powerful platelets from the other components in the blood.
Then, using natural methods, the platelets are activated and prepared to become a key element of your procedure. You can see the same type of natural activation in the yellow serum surrounding a scab over an injury. This yellow serum is what activates cells in the area to create new skin, and it is the same component used in PRP injections.
