Fraxel Dual skin treatments are becoming increasingly popular for men and women who hope to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These treatments can also help get rid of pigmentation caused by acne, sunspots, or age spots.
What Do Fraxel Laser Treatments Treat?
With the use of Fraxel lasers, you can treat many common skin issues, and the treatment will be catered to fit your needs. Keep in mind that these treatments are not good for excessive redness or eczema issues. Here are some issues that Fraxel can correct:

- Surgical scars
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Some precancerous lesions
Fraxel Laser Treatments vs. Fraxel Dual Treatments
About Fraxel Laser Treatments
Fraxel Laser treatments are best for younger patients who have limited amounts of skin damage from past acne or the sun. However, keep in mind that if acne or redness is a current issue for you, this treatment may not be your optimal choice. Fraxel laser treatments are great at getting rid of tiny lines around the eyes and minimal scarring from acne.
What is Fraxel Dual
Our older patients tend to be more partial to the Fraxel dual treatments as they are a little more powerful than the basic Fraxel Laser treatments. The Dual treatments are best for sun damage that may have resulted in brown spots or areas of hyperpigmentation. Light to dark brown age spots can also be treated better with the Fraxel Dual laser. Finally, Dual treatments work best for large areas that need work. For example, these treatments are great for the back or legs.
How to Prepare for Fraxel Treatments
You must do several things first before undergoing a Fraxel treatment. Let’s start by talking about what items you’ll need to have ready. First, you’ll want to purchase a gentle skin cleanser to use in the days and weeks following the treatment. Having some ice packs or bags of frozen vegetables will also be good to have on hand.
One to two weeks before you get the treatment, stop using your special creams and serums. This includes stopping use of products with Retin-A and other Retinols in them. You usually also stop using your other products for anti-aging as well as those products that contain glycolic acid. Limit your sun exposure and do not wax or use abrasive scrubs or masks until your skin has fully healed.
