• What do CoolGlide treatments feel like? As the name implies, the CoolGlide handpiece cools and soothes. When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation.

• How many treatments will I need? On average, most areas require at least six treatments.

• What happens after the treatment? Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. In rare instances, blistering may occur.

• How does the CoolGlide compare with electrolysis? During electrolysis, an electric charge is delivered by needle one follicle at a time. By delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles simultaneously, the CoolGlide takes seconds to treat an area that would take over an hour to treat with electrolysis.

Earlier methods in tattoo removal involved dermabrasion, salabrasion, surgery and CO2 lasers. These procedures left scars or lighter skin in place of the tattoo. With our YAG laser, light passes through the skin to be absorbed by the ink. This causes the tattoo ink to break down.

• How many treatment sessions will it take to remove the tattoo? Professional tattoos may require seven to 10 treatments. Homemade tattoos usually require only two to five treatments. Sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart.
• Do all colors of ink disappear equally? No. Dark inks (like blue or black) and red inks fade best. Oranges, yellows, and purples usually respond well. Green, light teal and sky blue inks are the most difficult to remove. However, multiple treatments can produce excellent results.
• Will the tattoo disappear completely? In many cases, yes it will.
• How much does the treatment cost? Fees determined during your consultation are based on overall size of the tattoo.

• When can I expect to see results? 
  Improvement may be seen approximately four to eight weeks after the first treatment. Maximum clearance is typically achieved within one to three treatment sessions.
• How do I know which treatment method is right for me? During your consultation, your provider will examine the areas you wish to have treated. Both sclerotherapy and laser treatment options will be discussed.
• Does it hurt? Treatment of leg veins may be uncomfortable for some patients.  This is easily managed by using external coolings or application of a topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment. This procedure requires no downtime.
